Possible Error Messages with Vista
"Your license file is missing after authenticating with the server. Please e-mail customer support. Exiting."
Thanks to wonderful Vista, if you are not signed in as Administrator, you do not have access to write files into C:\Program Files.
So, to get this to work, You can just login with Administrator rights
OR
1 - Go to C:\Program Files\Pre-Med Flashcards

2 - Click on Compatibility Files
3 - Copy the license.lic file from the compatibility Files and paste it into your c:\Program files\Pre-Med Flashcards
4 - You will get a UIC message (something like this):
5 - Accept and you should be done. Re-Run the program, and it should work.
I bought your full-version program, but when I go to install it, it's just the trial version. What's going on?
Again, this is a Vista issue. If you are not running under Administrator, Vista will not allow you to write files. Here is how you can fix this issue:
Step 1 - Go to the folder where you have downloaded the full version of Pre-Med Flashcards (or your CD-ROM)
Step 2 - Find the file setup.exe and right click on this file.
Step 3 - Go to Properties > Compatibility, and under the Privilege Level - Check the box "Run this program as admin." Click OK. That should fix this issue.

If you ordered the CD version, we will ship you a CD to the billing address listed.
I think I might have found an error. Do you have an errata list?

However, please keep in mind that if you have just purchased the product, the errors have probably already been corrected. We strive to have an error-free product, and we encourage your feedback. If you think you've found an error (no matter how trivial) please e-mail and let us know. We do care.
I want to use your program now, but I want a backup copy. Is this possible?
Sure. Buy the CD Version, send us an email, and we will e-mail you with instructions on how to download Pre-Med Flashcards, and we'll ship you a CD as well. You can get started right away.
I have a MAC. Will your program work on a MAC?
Unfortunately, no. Our program supports Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Windows Vista.
Is it enough to just use your Pre-Med MCAT flashcards to study for the MCAT?
Not exactly. The purpose of our flashcards is to review the material that will be on the MCAT. The student must realize that the MCAT is full of passages that must be read and then use the knowledge you have learned to answer the questions. The MCAT is a reasoning test, and knowing the material is the first step - but a very important step.
OK, I have used your flashcards. Now what do you recommend doing to study for the MCAT?
We recommend doing old practice tests released by the AAMC (which are REAL old MCAT questions). That will help you by getting used to the style and how to read and answer passage-based questions.
Do you have printed out MCAT flashcards that you will send me when I buy your product?
No. Pre-Med Flashcards is a computer program that contains over 1900 MCAT flashcards. We feel it's important to learn and study on the computer since you will be taking the MCAT on the computer as well. Remember, however, that you can print out the flashcards from the program.
Can I print out your flashcards from your program?
Yes. Pre-Med Flashcards has the feature to print out flashcards if you wish to do so.
How much is it?
The cost of MCAT Flashcards is $29.99 without shipping.
How do I buy your program?
Click on the "Buy" button (or click here). Then click on the Buy now button and go through Google Checkout or Paypal to purchase Pre-Med Flashcards.
Can I add my own flashcards?
Yes you can. The specifics of how to do this is located in the tutorial on the support page.
How come your flashcards are so much less than other companies? Does that mean they are no good?
We offer the finest flashcards that will really help you prepare for the MCAT. Since Pre-Med Flashcards is a program, there are not as many expenses such as printing, packaging, and distribution. Because of this, we would like to pass the savings on to you.
I'm having trouble activating my program. What can you do?
Due to different machine configurations, this does occasionally happen. There is a way to manually activate your product. The details can be found here
I have another Organic Chemistry reaction I'd like to add - how do you add those?
We used a freeware program called "Chem Sketch" from Advanced Chemistry Development, Inc. (ACD/Labs). Written permission was obtained to use the images created in Chem Sketch. You may do the same.
How will you mail the CD (if I purchased shipping)?
We mail CD's first class, and it should arrive between 2-5 business days.
Do you have a tracking number for me?
No, since we are mailing it first class, we cannot offer tracking numbers. We have found that our packages actually get to our customers faster this way, and it is cheaper, so we do not have to charge so much for shipping.
Technical Questions
Please note that the majority of technical questions about how to use the program can be answered by downloading our tutorial. There are step-by-step directions and pictures to help you that may be more beneficial than just words.
What is the difference between a card group and a card set?
A card group is the general category such as “Physics” and the card set is a subcategory such as “Equations” or “Experiments”
I still can’t add a card to my card group, why?!
To better organize your cards, you must have a card set in order to add cards. To add a card set to your new group simply highlight your new card group by clicking on it and then clicking on “Create new card set.”
Note: You can also add a new card set by clicking file -> New Card Set
I can’t delete my card group! Why not?
You first need to delete all card sets and in order to delete all card sets, you need to delete all the cards. Please read the tutorial which goes over this in detail.
I want to add 100 cards, but it will take me forever to go file -> new card a 100 times. Is there a faster way?
Yes. Simply click on the new card icon and a new card will appear. Rapidly click this until the desired number of cards appears.
How do I add text to my card?
Click on the desired card (front or back – you can tell because it will be outlined with a red box). Next click on the add text.
OK, I put my text in. Can I resize text & pictures and move it around?
Yes. Click on the text and a blue box will appear on the top of the desired text. Note that even if the text is very long, the blue box will appear only at the top of the selected text. If you’d like to make the text box longer, go to the very edge of the box until horizontal arrows Again, this is covered in detail in the tutorial.
How do I move the text/pictures around?
Move your mouse to the middle of the box and the hand cursor should appear. Left click down and you can move the text to the desired position.
How do I delete a card? I keep pressing the button and the card won’t delete!
To delete a card simply press the “Delete Card button.” Do not confuse this with the other “X” button located at the right. This is the “Delete Asset” button that deletes selected text or a selected picture.
What does the red bar do?
The red bar increases the size of the viewable card.
What does the blue bar do?
If you click above the white line or below the white line it will shift the cards order. Card 1 will now be shifted down one card and card 5 will now be on the top.
I want to study only Organic Chemistry flashcards right now, is this possible.
Yes, it is. Simply highlight the card set you want to study, which in this case is Organic Chemistry and click the play card set button.
While viewing the card, the question sometimes gets cut off, can I fix this?
Yes, you can. Since everyone has different monitor sizes, Pre-Med Flashcards is customizable to adjust the size of the viewing pane while playing or studying your cards. You can adjust the only the width, only the height, or both at the same time.
To adjust the width: simply adjust the panel by going to the edge of the box until your cursor changes to a double headed arrow. Left click and hold it down and drag to the desired length.
Can I paste a picture or text in from another program like Microsoft Word?
Yes. Please see the tutorial for the detailed answer to this question.
