Chemistry
#127 - In doing so, it becomes reduced, and is
therefore the electron donor in the redox.
Should be: In doing so, it becomes reduced, and is therefore the electron
acceptor in the redox.
Chemistry #174 - (CLARIFICATION) - How is this solved?
Dichloride is typically a gas - on the MCAT, you will
have to make this
assumption unless they tell you otherwise. The key concept to remember is
that there are 22.4 L/mol in a gas (they will test you on this guaranteed).
5.60 L / 22.4 L = .25 L
Chemistry #358 - (CLARIFICATION) -
How is this
solved?
Answer: This tests how to find the relative abundance of an element. Lets
assume that x = the relative abundance of 10B. This would mean that 1-x
would equal the relative abundance of 11B. Like you should do in the MCAT,
simplify and round and set up the equation.
x(10) + (1-x)(11) = 10.8
-x = -.2
x = 20%
Chemistry #373 - H2O(aq)
Should be: H30+(aq)
Chemistry #374 (on front side) - Should say "Find the Kb of B"
(on answer side) - Should say Kb
instead of Ka
Physics Section
Physics #163 - States Ay = A cos(theta)
Should be: Ax = A cos(theta) instead of Ay = ...
Physics #128 - Should ask about Beta+ decay
Physics #133 - Should say "B(parallel) = 0"
Physics #170 - Work = Force (parallel) X
Displacement
Should be parallel not perpendicular force
Organic Chemistry Section
OChem #331
There is an amino acid with a neutral side chain.
The solution is at a pH of 4.
In what direction will the amino acid migrate if the amino acid has a pI of 7?
Should be:
(change pI of 7 to pI of 3).
